How much roughly does it cost to have a wisdom tooth removed private?

I have been unable to get an NHS dentist within a 30 mile radious of where I live, I have been living on pain killers for this past week, How much roughly does it cost private to have it removed, I have heard it is expensive.

  • Have you seen a dentist at all? It may be that you should be referred to a hospital unit to have it removed as a small operation, that would be free. You need to be referred by a dentist though and if you see a private dentist, that would cost you. It's impossible to say without knowing all the details.

Try seeing if there's an emergency dentist (one attached to hospital or NHS emergency) and make an appointment with them. They can decide if it needs to be taken out, and if they can do it, and refer you to a hospital if it needs to be done there

Ring your local PCT, they should be able to let you know where the emergency dentist is in your area.
