If you are on the lookout for a new LCD TV Amazon is now selling the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500U model for just £699.94, with a 3 year guarantee. This is this year's model not an end of the line remaindered stock.

This TV is on sale at Comet and Currys for £849.99 with £100 trade-in for your old telly, so it's £50 cheaper at Amazon. It's £899 from M&S with a free Bluray player and 5 year guarantee, or £960 from John Lewis with a free blu-ray player, £100 trade in allowance and 5 year guarantee.
I got one from Amazon yesterday and it's just fantastic - best TV I've ever owned and a bargain if you are making your mind up on which one to buy.

'Bald' prices can be deceptive. Funnily enough, if I was in the market for this TV I would get it from Comet, trade my old TV in, go through topcashback for 3.5% cashback, use the 6% discount code shown on topcashback (expires 11/11/09) ...and get the Sony blu-ray DVD player for free! I calculate the net price from Comet using this method to be £675. With the standard Sony 3 year warranty and Sony blu-ray player included (currently £161 to buy seperately on Comet). If I didn't want to pick it up from my local store, then fair enough it's £20 delivery BUT it could be delivered this Sunday!

I bought this TV a few weeks ago. Someone on this site posted it at £599 on Argos. I tracked one down but after some research noted that Currys had theirs for £699 less £100 trade in. After a chat they sold me one for £599 without a trade in - incl free deleivery. Its a nice TV. I looked at the site on the day mine was delivered and Currys had it back at £849.0
