first time mortgage help

hi there ppl,im 26 held a steady job on a resonable wage and im looking to buy my first house,my credit report has my rating as 'poor' as when i was younger i made a few mistakes but ive not defaulted on any account i.e phone bill insurance or c.c in the last year or 2,ive applied for loans in the past with no luck,so im very weary of bein accepted for a mortgage but i have around £12.5-£15k for a deposit,basicaly im asking where to go from here,thanks in advance.

  • Check your credit file to see exactly what issues prevented you getting the loans. Do anything necessary to correct/improve outstanding issues.

    Wait for 6 months from when your credit is looking better.

    Save more while waiting. You'll need money for fees, etc. Plus the bigger deposit, the better mortgage.
    Act in haste, repent at leisure.
