Tesco Finest meal deal - beware

Bought the £9 Finest meal deal from Tesco yesterday and the discount didn't come off. Was charged over £17. Luckily I hadn't left the car park but it took over half an hour to get it sorted. CS lady insinuated I'd bought the wrong products which is why the discount didn't come off, but she tried combinations of different products and it still didn't come off. So remember to check your receipt carefully just in case.

did u get double the differance?
    SIMPLES!
  • Well actually I did just a bit better than that because I had the full £17 odd refunded and the CS lady gave me the meal deal for free. I hope it tastes good after all that.

  • Went to Tesco store at Barkingside, selected two (four item) £10 finest meal deals. As advertised in flyer delivered to homes all over the country. Staff also confirmed the items selected were 'in the deal'.
Went through tills, and found only one deal allowed, full price for the other. Complained and was told:
    i. Tesco's don't have to honour offers at tills - they are decretionary!
ii. We are not doing the deals today; even though one was allowed,
iii. We will refund all your deal items, taking back the deal discount already given,
iv. Told I was shouting! perhaps I was by then....
  • I ordered 2 Finest Meal Deals last week in my online shop. One item wasn't delivered for the 2nd deal so I got charged the full amount. When I contacted Customer Services they told me I should have given the other 3 items back to the driver (even though it was my family's dinner for that night!) and gave me a 'goodwill voucher' for £10. Their attitude was that it was my fault for getting it wrong. Sorry, not good enough. I have switched to Ocado.

Tescos are going to struggle even more if they keep up this we are never wrong attitude, luckily the staff at Chelmsford, Princes Road are very professional and I never get any problems with DTD, returns or any query.
In my store when the 3 4 2 on home baking started it wasnt on the system I had no probs getting DTD back, just wonder how many people didnt even know that this offer was on and that they hadnt got their offer.
