By trial and error I use Earsoft FX earplugs, which are the soft foam ones. They're a good size and don't fall out, unlike some of the thinner shaped foam ones. They're the best I've found for blocking noise and comfort.

I found the wax ones too uncomfortable, the Boots foam ones are very good and pretty comfortable but they're too expensive to wear regularly at about £4 for three pairs. I normally buy the earsoft ones in bulk, post free on ebay - costs me just under £7 for 30 pairs. If you don't want that many, you can get 15 pairs for just under £4 delivered.

This is the problem I have. I don't have that problem with the wax ones (they can be moulded) but I've have wax build up since using the wax ones.
Either that or get yourself some ear defenders - now they really work

This was something I'd never thought about, thanks.

I have insomnia and love wax plugs. You have to heat them in your hand and roughly shape them, then pop in your ears and leave to warm for a wile longer, then good shove with your thumb so they stick right in and form to your ear. If you don't get the shape right they will feel uncomfortable and won't keep noise out.
