Basically at the mo you have no cash to pay creditors at all.
You need to get in touch with your creditors to tell them this.
You need to open a new bank account ASAP to get all your incoming money paid into- a basic account will be fine at the mo- so bank cant take any of your money when you have so little.
    hope this helps

we have being trying to pay creditors 10m each for last six months but its impossible to carrying on doing that , so even though we have contacted CCCS we don't feel they have been much help , so we are going to see a debt advisor at CAB hopefully in the next 2 weeks. went to a local CAB today and her advise was to stop paying one of the credit cards ( barclaycard) and force them to go to debt collection agency (?) , i assume the reason being is to freeze interest , but won't that mean I could get CCJ's ?

just been online to open STEP account with Natwest , so should get paperwork through before tsb bank a/c goes 2,000 OD !!

As suggested, have you contacted the tax credit helpline about the overpayment?

Also on HMRC website it says that:
Your tax credits award is based on your annual income (for couples, this is your joint income). Your initial award will usually be based on your annual income for the previous tax year. But the amount of tax credits you are entitled to can change if your income changes.
, so you should check your entitlement straight away.

Is your son paying a contribution? If not, much as you'd like to be able to keep him at the moment you can't afford this, on threads that have been on here before the general figure seems to be one third of his income.

If he is on a low income you might be entitled to Second Adult Rebate which is help towards you council tax and based on the income of a non dependant living in your house. Contact the council about this possibility.

Also you said you didn't mention to CAB (on another thread) about your utility problem, it's really important to tell CAB everything about your situation because they can help by negotiating. When you see their debt advisor, tell them everything because they can deal with all aspects of your situation.

This may be a little blunt but this is how I see it:

it would help you if you worked out your figures either on a weekly basis or a monthly basis so you could see clearer how the balances add up .

    i make it like this

when your OH is in work
your income is £232 per week on average
your spending is £261 per week and this doesNOT include anything for central heating or pipe cover

you are also trying to pay back about £50 per week in debt repayments

also there are many things left out of your SoA so really you are probably spending more than that.

basically your income is not even covering you spending ...there is absolutely nothing left over to pay any debt off at all.

even to live (without paying any debts off) you must either increase your income in a major way or reduce your spending

    INCOME.

    a. you need to get a proper fulltime job
    b. when your OH recovers from his operation can be work more than 27 hours or get a better paying job?
    c. are you claiming all the benefits you are entitled to?
    d. son should contribute to the family income

    Until income increases

    a. phone bill 67 per month is huge ....basic BT at 11 per month and using call1899.com or call18185.co.uk or equivalent should be less that £10 say total £20 per month max.
    b. mobiles: you cannot afford to spend £30/35 per month
    c. gas servicing and wate pipes are rip offs .cancel them...get a corgi plumber to service the boiler once a year (do it in summer when they aren't very busy and agree a price in advance)

Keep a spending diary to find out what you really spend.

    Debts

I cannot see that at the moment you can actually pay anything and would suggest you write to them and say you can afford nothing until your situation improves...maybe pay them £1 per month as a symbol of your willingness to repay them eventually.
Your priority must be to pay the mortgage , council tax and the utilities
obviously your credit record will be trashed but it is probably that anyway.

I am in agreement here with Clapton, entirely.

If you can get a full time job, or at the very least a part time job, then this will bolster your situation.

    Hi ,
debts are 50 per month not weekly , hubby's half contract hrs are 27 ,
back at work on re-hab so no overtime for at least 4 weeks , but then it will take him over 30 hrs so thinking of claiming wtc , he has health probs so jobs are limited

son walked out on a job in January , letter from DWP today now saying he can't get JSA till Oct , could he claim income support? , he gets jobs but only stays in them about 2 weeks , which then messes up us claiming council tax benefit!!
he pays 10 sometimes but the week after he asks for it back for bus pass!

I phoned WTC up today and they have got hubby's hrs down at 30!! but then they will ask for payslips which show 27hrs.

I didn't put in another claim after son left college other year as I didn't think we could claim WTC anymore....
