Thanks for that. I appreciate it.
I will check the registry trust, but wouldn't a CCJ show up on Experian?
One final one...I now have a credit score of 761, with no debts or defaults etc showing. I have just applied for a credit builder crad. How quickly can my credit score go up? And is there anything i should be doing to build it?
Thanks again.0 -

Not all CCJ's show up on the CRA's - also you're assuming they use Experian, don't forget there are 3 CRA's and each lender uses their own - not all use all 3 CRA's to record data.
Forget the score you see online, it is a number generator and means nada - save your pennies and ignore it from now on.:D
CRA's dont offer credit so you tell me, how can their score mean anything? A score is assessed and calculated by the individual lender - not the CRA! A lender scores you, not the CRA.2010 - year of the troll

Thanks,
In that case I guess I have two real questions:
1) If my debt is statute barred, and has dissapeared from my file. Will lenders be able to see it, and as such be put off giving me credit (i.e. a mortgage).
2) If i have a CCJ, but pay it all off, will lenders be able to see this, and as such be put off giving me credit as above?
Cheers.0 -

You have to assume that the debt is gone, dead - buried!
1. No lender can see it, it is dead - i.e. the entry has gone forever - its now statute barred.
2. I doubt you'll have a ccj, just assume at this stage it has gone.
Don't worry, you'll be fine.2010 - year of the troll

But it wouldn't do any harm in just CCA'ing whoever's chasing me? I've already ceased payments and i'm just in the process of printing template letters off to send later on.0 -

Well part of the CCA states that if they are not the creditor they have a duty to pass it on to them. So you can do, but it looks better for you to send the request to the right company, if you dont then each cheque will be returned cos you'll be paying it to the wrong company!
See what i'm saying? If you are being chased by ABC solicitors on behalf of BCD debt collection services on behalf of lender DEF - then you will be going back and forth with the wrong cheque!I mean, the cheque would, in that instance be payable to DEF Bank but you'd make it out; incorrectly; to the chaser, in this case ABC Solicitors.

Since you're such knowledgeable people, can anyone point me towards the "we'd like a copy of all our statements for £10" type letter. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
