Hello There,
After 12 (+2 as YTS) years in my current job , I am today going to be made redundant.
I have managed to get a interview on Tuesday next week with The AA.
However, as I am only 30 years old, and been with my present employer since school I have no idea how to go about the interview process.
I have never had a interview in my life and I'm getting abit worried about the whole thing.
As anyone got any advice please, Or even better does anyone work for the AA on here who can give my an idea of the questions that I'll be asked?
Please help
Cheers:beer:

My best advice would be to research the company, always looks good. Dress smartly, first impressions are lasting ones. Show enthusiasim and just be yourself, it'll look more genuine!

They will give you tea and a biscuit, you will sit in a circle and have to say "My name is Dj Flame and I am an alcoholic"0

I don't know how the AA recruit and what your interview will consist of but I would suggest the following preparation for any interview:
- Make sure you know where you are going and who you need to ask for (don't want to be late or cause confusion on reception)
- Research the company
- Make sure you are confident you can talk through your CV and discuss your previous work history
- Have a good read of the job description and think about why you meet what they are looking for
- Pick out the skills and experience highlighted in the job description and find examples of your own to match these eg: They want admin experience/ think about what admin experience you have or they want good customer service/ think about an example of when you have provided good customer service.
- Lots of employers as competency based questions which mean you have to give specific examples in your answers to questions- think about examples of things like team work/ customer service/ using your initiative/ dealing with stressful situations/ innovation etc
- Think about why you want the job and where you see your career headed
- Any questions you might have for them around the job/ company
Most of all be yourself and try to relax (easier said than done, I know!)
Good luck.0 -
Many big companies like to think that you will be with them in the long term and will often ask you where you see yourself in 5 years time. Obviously, you will want to say with them but in a higher position!0
