Savings After BR...

I am out of BR by 8 months and am going to receive £20k next month that I will be able to save and make the basis for the start of building up a deposit towards a house (hopefully).

Do discharged Bankrupts have difficulty getting savings accounts and are there any that are more accepting?

Which is the best way to save this bearing in mind that it may not be saved for a very long time?

many thanks
Fiona

Yorkshire Building Society Internet Saver. Opened mine online with no checks at all (still BR). However, you might be able to find something better since you're discharged. Others can help more.

I've had absolutely no problem at all opening both a More4more savings account and Golden ISA with Barclays since discharge (only discharged a month ago) but I do already have a cash card account with them so they can see how I'm running it. I applied for both online - the More4more savings took 3-4 days to open, the ISA was instant.

I also successfully opened a YBS internet saver (as Trom mentioned) and a Sainsbury's bank savings account whilst I was still BR - but prefer having it all at Barclays now as it's easier to manage and transfer between accounts with it all in the same place.

    I made it through!
Don't ignore a problem. Unlike a bad smell, it won't eventually go away.
