Sainsburys Loans how difficult to be accepted?

I've settled a loan I had from 2006 with Halifax, my bank. It was for 6.5k over three years and I settled two months early.
As I have some disposable cash at the end of each month I was thinking of applying for a new car loan with them, probably less than the original loan, say 5k. I have one settled default on my credit score from 4years ago, so before my original loan with them, although I know they will be more stringent on acceptance now.
What I want to know is if they do decline me do I have a decent case for an appeal as I have clearly demonstrated I can manage a loan with them?
Cheers for your thoughts and I'll keep you posted on the application which I plan to make next week.

Yes, the fact you have had one and paid it - and considering they accepted you for that loan with the default there shows that you're not really a risk - it should be fine....:D

NID, quick question for you.
After me calling them week last Friday (after making an application week last Thursday), they said a decision had not been made for my application. I was told, someone would contact me on the Saturday (week yesterday). I have heard nothing at all, and not rang them as I have been away with work.
To be honest, I anticipated a 'Dear John' letter waiting for me at home when I got back Friday, however, nothing!
I plan to call them tomorrow to see what the outcome of my application is, surely though, after credit checking me during the application process, they would be obliged to let me know the outcome!?
Thanks.0 -

Hmmm, you should have heard by now - i'd ring them and see what they say - there could be a delay with mail, however either way i'd have thought you'd have had an agreement or a decline by now...2010 - year of the troll
