I would suggest holding off on the PC version of MW2 for the reason that Infinity Ward will be pulling dedicated servers from the game - this added to - no more extra maps - no more modding - which is what the game has been developed by PC gamers since the series began.
You will have to pay a subsciption to IW.net to be able to play on a "listen" server.
No more dedicated servers means - no more admins who will kick off cheats or abusive players ,
It also will not allow matches to be played between gaming clans, and people of differing ability but will select your opponents based on your mutual skill level. This will mean if your mates are better than you - it may be difficult to actually play a game with them.
As most of the content of future FPS games are based on the feedback from users, and their custom modifications to the game and also their work in creating extra maps to keep interest in a game. This is a kick in the teeth for the punters who have helped support it.
Although an online petition to complain about this rasied over 100,000 signatures - Activision and Infinity Ward acidentally "deleted" the threads from their forums and refuse to be questioned directly on the matter - citing the old " we believe this change will be a good thing". for their own pockets - no doubt.
Also when questioned about game support - they have remained tight lipped about this too. which from past record usually means they wont be giving any.
This sort of problem came about with the release of CoD 3 a few years back and nearly brought Infinty Ward to its knees when the PC clan community locked over 90% of CoD servers in the world in protest about their treatment - resulting in the hurried announcement of CoD4.
