Calling all Edinburghers!!
Hi folks
My daughter has an interview at Telford College next week. Can anybody help with the fastest and cheapest way to get there from Glasgow? I have only been to Edinburgh twice in my life and haven't a clue even about the city centre. I also got lost, so driving through will be the absolute final option.

Telford College is on Telford Road nearish to the Western General Hospital, no need to go near the city centre if coming from Glasgow.
If coming by car from Glasgow, at the Maybury take the Maybury Road to the left at the traffic lights after the Maybury Roundabout down to the Barnton roundabouts then right into town. At the big junction by Tom Farmer's tyre place take the left lane and that is Telford Road0 -
check which campus you need ....there is one on Crewe Road, one on Telford Road and one the other side of crewe toll...the name escapes me! It would be a bit of a nightmare to be at the wrong bit if you are going for an interview!
You could walk down from Haymarket station (if you feel energetic) or there are plenty buses from centre of town.

I would go for the bus no 37 from the North Bridge. It goes right past the South CampusTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

Thanks folks, will need to find out exactly where she has to go but from all your advice she should get there fine. If all goes well, she may have to look for digs there too.......0

best way to get from glasgow is:
Buchannon bus station - get the megabus - £1 each way get off at St Andrews street bus station, tell her, when she gets off the bus, she has to walk out of the station.
if she goes to her right when she gets of the bus, up the stairs she will come out next to harvey nicks, to turn left and head in to princess st -
if she goes to her left she will have to walk up a small ramp and do a 180 at the top of the ramp and walk down the side of the st james shopping centre - to princess st, at the corner of leith street and the bridges
and from there to catch the 37 as suggested from the bus stop - (princes street or bridges)
the bus is also £1 each way in Edinburgh - or a day saver of £2.30 can be bought if she will use more than 2 buses in LRT in Edinburgh.
Max trip cost £4
Tell her, to ask the bus driver to give her a shout when she gets to telford college - the driver will. - Crew Toll fire station is around the corner from it - but i will say - there are 2 / 3 campuses - there is the main one (where i think it will be) but if it is not, sombody in the main campus will tell your daughter how to get to the other campus(within 5 min walk)

Where the heck has the thanks button gone now?
Maclaren, just to say thanks (if button comes back I'll press it) for all that info. Moneysaving too!
With directions like that not even I can get lost
Still haven't found out which campus, but we will leave plenty of time.
Thanks again for replies.

Hi maclaren, thanks for the interest!
I wrote your instructions down to the letter and she got there fine. Only blip was finding the right campus but she found it in plenty time.
She is still waiting to hear, but I think in the meantime reality has kicked in and the thought of moving through has scared her a bit. So she has now applied to a Glasgow college which is only 20 minutes away (and I for one am a lot happier about that!). Teenagers, dont ya just love em?
