Help re credit

Hey

Not sure where to put this but kind of relates to loans/other credit

Its regarding my partner, she is being declined credit from places such as Argos, Curry's etc, and we cannot think of any reason why.

The only 'credit' she has is a £300 overdraft which has never been over limit and always has her wage paid into that account, and the only other credit she has is Mobile Broadband, which is always paid by direct debit, on time.

any help appreciated

  • Your partner is probably being declined because she doesn't have sufficient credit history. She needs to build up a history by getting a credit card or two. Companies that lend money want to see a reasonable amount of history that shows that the individual has a track record of managing credit well.

Also she needs to make sure she's on the electoral role with the local council.

And finally check the credit file from one of the main credit reference agencies, it's free for a limited time. Make sure there aren't any unusual or incorrect details registered.
