maltesers

im currently researching malteser prices.to my surprise the fun size bags work out cheapest in saisburys at 70p/100g whereas i presumed the biggest pack would work out cheapest.can anyone beat this as both my kids say this is their favourite for xmas toffees.interested to see others finds!thank you

  • There used to be a big bucket of maltesers came out at christmas time, but no-one seems to do these anymore, or has anyone seen them this year ??

    I emailed Mars and unfortunately it is not going to be part of their xmas 2009 range, but if you write or email them the more demands they recieve the more likely they are to come back!!

    The funsize packs are the cheapest for another reason, that is the limited qty per pack...last time I counted there was a miserly 11 Maltesers per pack. It's so easy to get through a big bag / box of Maltesers without even noticing (esp if you are "sharing" during a theatre / cinema trip, but what extra enjoyment do you really get from the remaining 80g?? I would make good use of the psychological barrier of opening another bag of sweeties and stick with the fun size packs, combined with a strategy of making sure the kids eat loads of veg to fill them up in a healthy way on the day itself.
    Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
