A couple of years back I managed to live on £5 per day for about 3 months... this didn't include any of my bills though it just included Petrol, food etc. I was one living on my own and that was hard enough so not sure it would be do-able for a family.

At the moment I'm living on a tenner a day successfully (again just including food & petrol etc)

Was debt free... then went travelling!
