I no longer want to hear that name again.

I have had a on going dispute with them for well over a year now, it's been to the FOS, an agreement was reached, they have failed to act on the agreement, and now they won't talk to me. The Bank have acknowledged the mistake was made by them and not by me.

A bit of back ground, they gave a loan back in 2005, they gave me more money that was requested, this was noticed only last year due to ill health and the fact that when the loan was initially taken out I had been hospitalized shortly afterward, they were sending statements to a previous address and I don't believe in Internet and phone banking due to the security implications at the time (trust me, I know a lot about data security, it's my job, I have to) so I couldn't check what was going on, when I came out of hospital I had received a deposit back on a flat, full payment from my central London work place for three months, of course I was expecting a large amount of cash in my account. I even had one of those accounts where surplus money was swept into reserves to "make it work harder" which I didn't get regular statements for, so at the time I had no idea what had happened. It was only when I tried to pay off the loan that I discovered a problem (I didn't receive statements in relation to the loan until AFTER I had raised the issue about the amount still owing). After I reported the problem, they then started threatening debt collect agencies on me, sending me default notices saying I was behind on repayment, for which I had never received this before I noticed the mistake they had made

The FOS came to their conclusions and an agreement was to set up an interest free loan for the excess, the initial demand by the bank was to pay the full amount plus interest which I could not afford, that's when it went to the FOS. The agreement that I entered into with the FOS was that an interest free loan for the excess sum to be set up (this has been done), in return the excess interest and charges they have charged would be refunded to the loan account, they have not done this, they have refunded just short of 200GBP which they claim is the excess interest, in actual fact the excess interest should be just short of 2000GBP.

I have sent them numerous letters recorded delivery so I have proof of postage and delivery, they fail to reply to my letters. I have just tried phoning them, when I said the phone conversation was being recorded initially not a problem, when I reminded the him that the conversation was being recorded when he told me that I had been put through to the wrong department, even though I had just been put through to him by another department who said they could help, he hung up on me, even though he initially said that was OK, can they do this? I asked the manager in my local branch the other week if it was OK for me to record the conversation on my dictaphone, again this was refused, if I want a record of the conversation why can't I, after all they record the conversations on the phone, they have CCTV recording what goes on in branch, why can't I record it?

I did get through to someone from the head office complaints department in Liverpool, they told me that the excess which I am now querying could be to do with charges to the account, but the FOS have told them to remove such charges, I have referred this back to the FOS, they have told me I should hear back from them in the near future, but I am slowly loosing the will to live due to the incompetance of the banking sector.

How can I communicate with them if they are un-willing to discuss matters when I am recording the conversation, how can I communicate with them when the refuse to respond to my letters, when I phone I am told they will put it in writing, it never happens. Lat time I saw the assistant branch manager of my local branch he referred to me as a cripple, I permently disabled and am unable to walk un-aided due to cancer, for which I have since made a full recovery, just with a large part of my leg missing, how can this be allowed, and how can they think it is allowed.

I am seriously thinking about putting all my money into a safe under the floor, or simply use my Australian bank account instead, the only issue with that is the charges when I am using my Australian account in the UK is pretty high.

Rant over, many thanks in advance
