flexi-bar

I am interested in buying a flexi-bar which is one of these - decription below

They are a fibreglass pole with a weight at each end

Has anyone ever used one do they work?

Whether you use it for strength and endurance training, or for specific rehabilitation purposes, the Flexi-bar is unbeatable for its versatility. The Flexi-bar comes with a Training Plan 1 (intro DVD).

If you are recovering from an injury, training for a performance sport, or just interested in improving your fitness, then the Flexi-bar is for you.

Flexi-bar works the deep muscles of the entire torso (abs, back) and the technique for the Flexi-bar is quickly learned over a short period of time. Initially, a high amount of effort and concentration is needed to bring the Bar into a swinging motion. Some individuals require more time to develop the sensor motor skills required to swing the Bar which is an indication of co-ordination, not an indication of relative fitness.

Initially, the surface muscles of the shoulders and back are used predominantly for the swinging action. After correct technique is learned, the deep muscles of the back are the prime movers of the swinging action.

Flexi-bar works the Long/Medium and deep muscles of the back and Abdominals. The action of shaking the Flexi-bar causes a vibration to be passed through the body, right down to the deep involuntary muscles of the back. These muscles are only activated from reacting to an external force (i.e. they react to the environment and you cannot control them).

These muscles are often weak and have a poor blood supply due to inactivity, or repeating the same activity over a long period of time.

However, the function of these muscles is to keep the spine stable through everyday movements and they need to be strong and supple.

    hiya.
I've never used one but I have heard that they are good. I think its one of those things to try out & see how you get on with it. Have you tried googling? or check on ebay, find someone who bought one a while ago & email them politely & ask what they think of it. Most people are nice enough to reply & I know i've had a few questions from people doing that sort of thing.
Let us know how you get on.

We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • I am keenly checking Ebay - however still expensive

I don't want to buy in atny then in lives in a cupboard after the novelty value has worn off -

So that is way I was hoping that someone who already had one whould be able to tell me if it's alright

If anyone knows of a site where it is cheaper that 69.99 I would love to know
