My friend had a problem with her boiler last week, she ended up having no hot water. When she was letting off steam about how the kids baths were going to be tricky i didnt tell her to stop moaning because there are people in other parts of the world without access to water?
I refer you to my previous post, hot running water is something you HAVE to have to get by and as such, I would be miffed if my boiler packed up as I need hot water on a daily basis.
Can I ask why the OP needs 3 weeks away?? As a compromise, why not take a week and save some money??
It all balls down to people not being grateful for what you have. You have an income, you have your health, seemingly have enough money to enjoy the little things in life so why throw your toys out of your pram over this tiny little thing.
I'd hate to see how you cope when it comes to a real problem!0 -
3 weeks away........because I finish at Uni and it is possibly the one and only time before I re-enter the workplace I can get that time off!!!!
I had explained this.
FYI.....both I and OH are incredibly grateful for what we have.....bought and saved for by bloody hard work from both of us.
As for coping with real problems....as I have explained on several occassions I have a lot of other 'stuff' going on and focusing on a nice thing helps get through that difficult period.0 -
OP I think you're quite right to have a nark if you want to, no one has the righ to judge you, I'm just thinking, lucky sod 3 weeks holidays off work, but I don't think you're wrong to complain about it. FWIW when I didn't have kids, I hated going on my hols in the peak periods, so totally get it.
Good for you for owning your attitude and not rising to some of the bait/hate being chucked at you. Sometimes we all need a good moan, and we're not just moaning about the things we are actually saying. Some people need to realise that.

But what I'm saying is, why 3? Why not 4, why not 2???
Why not compromise and just go away for a week to save some money? I'm sturggling to understand why it HAS to be 3 weeks? 1 week away a year seems to be enough for most people!0
