Sorry, just venting. I have just spent an hour on the phone to RM in various departments.
I sent a claim off about three weeks ago for a lost item and guess what, they claim it never reached them. Obviously I can reprint the claim form and invoice but I have no copy of the COP as my printer ran out of ink..so I have to now write in and explain that the COP went in with the original claim which has subsequently been lost in the post.
I've also got another lost parcel and they have given me two different addresses to send the claim form to, I had to phone back and clarify where to send my items (and yes this time i have copied eveything).
Add to that not one of the recorded delivery letters sent to e2save for my phone cashbacks are showing as received, and the RM are just saying that they often don't get signatures on bulk mail.... I'm getting wound up here.

I feel your pain with Royal Mail! Although I'm not losing out financially (as of yet) I have 2 items that have gone missing, one from ebay and one from a US website.
The US website is re-sending the item, and he had a right rant about how bad our postal service is, he is even going to consider stopping delivering to the UK.
My ebay item still hasn't arrived after over 3 weeks, but te seller has 100% feedback so I'm trusting them to sort it out. They sent it first class standard I think or maybe recorded, what cover does that give them? I seem to remember £30.0

Brains both 1st class and recorded cover the seller against loss up to £32.
One word of warning, however nice your seller is if you haven't had a refund in about 5 weeks do consider starting a paypal claim as you only have 45 days in which to do that.

Countless number of times I have heard about Royal Mail loosing claims forms in the post. It has happened to me on a number of occassions, I even had to talk to the post watchdog. I completely agree with you Soolin very annoying indeed. Especially when you're out of pocket while all this is happening and Royal Mail are neither use nor ornament.
Good luck anyway! I'm sure you'll get some compo eventually!Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0

Whenever I have to hand a lost claim form in I give it all to the cashier to check (after making copies at home first) then ask for a stamped receipt showing the date it was handed in. Some of them aren't happy about this but I've said I'll take a piece of paper with the cashier's signature with the stamped date on it but I won't hand it in without some proof that I have done so.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0
