How about this?

The link is to the Natural History Museum shop, but you can also get it from Play.com with free delivery (it costs £5). It looks like a great gift for kids obsessed with poo, bottoms and other toilet humour (my three boys then!)

I think it would bring back too many memories of a sleepless night in Kenya, with elephants trying to rip down the trees and get onto our camp, and the Masai firing their guns into the air to scare them off - there was plenty of the raw material round in the morning!
The strange thing is, my daughter slept through this but was woken up by monkies strolling around on her roof!
Have to admit though, it is a wonderful idea. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Wow, sounds wonderful but scarey! I went on safari in Tanzania as a student (many years ago!), but only saw elephants from inside a vehicle. Even so having one heading towards you is quite something!
I wonder what on earth made someone think of turning their poo into a notebook though!0 -
Have you seen the other one called 'poo in a box'! You get a box of poo & some seeds to sow onto it!

i watched something on telly awhile back about the process of making paper from elephant poo, it was an elephant sanctuary and they needed to find ways of funding the place.
elephants eat sooo much fibre and a lot of it is left behind in their dung so some bright spark must have thought waste not want not! mind you it's a bit of a drawn our process but really the only that is left from the elephant poo in the paper is the unprocessed plant fibres... still a novel idea and i say good on them for being clever with their recycling and funding ideas!0 -
For a poo-themed gift (now there's a thought!) Either of these poo gifts could be combined with the book 'How much poo does an elephant do?'
