Agree conclusions are being jumped to to a degree (by me too) but on a forum they always will be as the detail provided is invariably fairly low.

However, the OP does seem to be raising greivences against a large number of people and the one against her direct report is unusual to say the least. A degree of questioning/debate re this is not an unnatural reaction from other posters...

Just to give a little support for the OP. I once had a serious disciplinary issue with a man I managed. This was reported to my line manager several times and he failed to act. Although the problem (grievance) was with the man I managed, I raised a grievance against my line manager for failing to act and therefore effectively making this man unmanageable (and making it impossible for me to do my job). Maybe the OP has a similar situation and is simply unaware of how he should approach the problem and the correct way his grievance should be put forward?

I may sound a bit harsh but someone in a management position, who has a copy of the grievance procedure should be able to write a grievance letter, and understand its use (i.e. not aimed at own staff).
However if the OP is not aware of own role, and relevant policies and procedures may not be entirely his fault, but of the school which employed them and maybe did not provide the necessary training/coaching to develop.

Your approach makes sense to me. Difficult situation I guess - How did it pan out?
