Limescale Prevention Powder vs Vinegar in the washing machine

I've been considering using white vinegar in my washing machine once the current bottle of fabric softener gets finished up. But ... I use limescale prevention powder with the washing liquid as I live in a very, very hard water area.
If I put vinegar into the machine instead of fabric softener and combine it with washing liquid and limescale prevention powder will I have an erupting vesuvius of a washing machine?
May seem like an extremely silly question but don't fancy cleaning up afterwards
Thanks!!

I live in London, and the water is verrrry hard. I use washing soda instead of water softener, (used to use Calgon or own brand, but don't need it now) and add vinegar to the rinse section to get all the soap out of the clothes (I don't like the artificial feel of fabric softener). I also try to use powder and liquid at different times to try to keep the machine "healthy". The machine is wonderfully clean - no gunge at all, and the clothes are clean and just smell clean iyswim.0

Ahhh, I think I have some washing soda lurking at the back of the cupboard - sister bought the wrong thing and gave it to me.
Soooo, I can swap my limescale prevention powder for washing soda and I can swap my fabric softener for vinegar and there won't be any eruptions????Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0
