Yippee!! Glad the original menu is back! Sending hubby to M&S to stock up, as I'm in bed with the flu! Will save me having to cook this weekend!!Everything I wanna do is either illegal, immoral or fattening! lol :rotfl:0

Aww, I like sticky toffee pud0

A slight glitch, although it isn't really - bear in mind that the fish, chips and mushy peas comes complete with it's own sides so effectively you can get more sides with that one than any others. Especially as there are chips on the side menu...My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.0 -
The profiterole stack has been added as a dessert now.0

Thanks - I will hunt the alternatives out - seems to be more choice now. I think at the time it was orange juice or elderflower presse only.
Agreed, our store used to only get a few cases of presse and juice that would run out after a couple of days. For this and the last 2 meal deals the range and availability of soft drinks has been far better.0 -
not getting into a debate but i dont believe its a meal deal at all. Its all overpriced and food/portions minimal.
This is actually one of the better deals as when I was putting them through the till yesterday the average saving appeared to be over £7. Personally I would choose one of the vegetable side dishes and then buy a bag of the 99p "Everyday" potatoes to bulk up the meal with wedges or roasties.
It's all relative...I've had many (and I mean many not just one or two) people say they can serve 3 with the meal deal, especially when there are whole chickens on the deal. The meal doesn't need any preparation and cooking is relatively simple...I know of plenty of bog standard restaurants round here where a 3 course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine would come to near £50. On the other hand these forums have shown that £50 can feed 1 or maybe even 2 people for a month.0 -
Sent OH off for this but didn't realise M&S's error...OH came back empty handed!0

In my humble opinion this is only a good deal when the chickens are included. The cook range is a joke, the portions are so small. Had a look at this offer in Westfield yesterday, a few people were browsing but nobody bought it.
It will all be half price on Monday. Surely M&S know by now that when there is a meat joint or chicken included in the offer they sell more.0 -
...I've had many (and I mean many not just one or two) people say they can serve 3 with the meal deal, especially when there are whole chickens on the deal. ..snipped....
I tried the last deal. No way would any of the options feed 3 people, or even 2 adults and a child eg the mains were 2 person 'ready meals', the pies were 2 'individuals' as were the desserts.
In fact, DH could have eaten all of the main course and still looked for more.
It seems it's only the £15 deals that will feed 3+ now.
No doubt the £10 deals are good value if you buy M&S food normally. We don't and were looking for a special meal & were disappointed.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
