Would anyone be interested in Pigsback introducing a system where we can request Pigsback buy an item from one of their "partners" who were are currently unable to redeem our Piggypoints against?

At the moment we can buy directly from DABS.COM but there is no way of using collected Piggypoints to buy from them.

On the plus side Pigsback could probably get a better deal that DABS.COM advertise at which means they may save points/money. It would also mean that an electronic voucher/code could be used to order item, thus elimiating the risk of vouchers/goods going missing in the post.

That sounds like a great idea, itsbeef! There may be logistics problems for Pigsback, though.

Obviously, Pigsback are in the business of marketing rather than retail and I think they currently buy in rewards from their trading partners. The vouchers currently offered do not require much storage space and have no expiry date and so are convenient for Pigsback. If they were to buy in a consignment of iPods for instance then surely they would have to sort out extra storage, extra postage and insurance, how to deal with customer warranties and how to deal with possible unsold stock - very few people have as many PPs as you!! iPod models change frequently, so Pigsback risk not being able to 'sell' stocks whilst members wait to accrue enough points and by the time they do have enough that model'll have become obsolete!

Can you think of another way?

You bought some waffles?? I prefer wholemeal scones myself but everyone to their own.......

    Recipe to try:

    Ingredients:
6 ounces (175g or 1½ US cups) wholemeal flour
6 ounces (175g or 1½ US cups) white flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
2 ounces (60g or half stick) butter or margarine
    2 teaspoons of syrup, warmed
Approximately quarter pint (5 fluid ounces or 150ml or generous US half cup) milk
    Pinch of salt
    Method:
Mix the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and then rub in the fat until it becomes like coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in the melted syrup and then add enough milk to make a soft dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and roll until quite thin. Using a cutter, cut into rounds of about 1½ inches (3.8cm) in diameter.
Place the rounds on a floured baking sheet and cook in a pre-heated oven at 190C/375F/Gas Mark 5 for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot, spread with butter.

    Good points......

With regards to "PB buying the Ipod," I should have explained it better.

If PB had "internal vouchers" for DABS.COM for example. I could request a voucher worth £100 from PB, PB would then request that an Ipod was sent to me. The financial transaction between PB and DABS.COM would be completed electronically (less hassle than posting vouchers)

PB could probably negotiate a better price, thus paying out less for the "electronic voucher"

PB wouldnt need to hold stock at all......

Will think over this thought and email PB soon.

Good idea Itsbeef, I think that sounds fab!
I do agree with point3 though in that it could be a logistical problem for PB.
