Help the Aged Charity Shop

Had a shock today-went in to my local Help the Aged charity shop to get a couple of bits and came away with a free energy saving lightbulb and a £10 voucher for Littlewoods!

If you spend over £5 in the shop or donate two bags of items for them to sell you get the voucher! Bargain :jNot sure about the light bulb though:D

I'm sure I read somewhere that if you donate a Marks item of clothing to an Oxfam shop you get a £5 Marks voucher.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • Sounds like a good offer to me, thanks.

Great spot. You get rid of some clutter, they make some money and you get a Littlewoods reward too. Here's a tool to find your nearest shop:

It's £10 off your first online order but no minimum spend so I guess you could see it as a gift voucher.

It is a bit naughty. The signs in the shop don't make it clear and when I asked for a leaflet in the shop (had the chance to go in after I asked here) the assistant waved her hand at me in a dismissve manner and said " oh we don't have any but it's not any good really. It's ONLY off your first order" She was totally disinterested and I felt like a bit of a cheapskate asking of it after that attitude!

  • i agree, i find this a total scam, donated 2 bags of items to help the aged last week and was told i would need to ask the manager, yet the assistant took the donations happily into the back. would not donate to this charity.

Why is this a scam? It is a CHARITY when all said and done - anyone who gives to charity in the expectation of receiving a reward, well the less said about that the better! Consider this to be a bonus for those who it will be of some use to - and remember staff in charity shops are VOLUNTEERS, not trained shop assistants so don't be too hard on them.

My daughter works in a charity shop and she is NOT a volunteer. She gets paid a wage and so does the manager of the shop:confused:
