Suggestions for utilising my advantage card points DFW style

I've racked up £125 worth of points on my boots advantage card and I could do with some help with useing them in a worthwhile manner as a newly enrolled DFW.

Before I would have used them to treat myself to something expensive, and that's still an option but it does seem like a wastefull one.
Ideas I've had so far feel free to suggest more please:
1) Sell the card on ebay,
2) Buy something desirable and sell it on ebay (maybe vouchers if you can do this?)
3) I never really go into town so buying my essential regular items would be a pain, but if that's the best option.
Thanks all. :T

I would save them for Xmas then stock up on pressies when they do their '3 for 2'.
Im glad I havnt got that many at the mo though as would be seriously tempted to buy the i pod nano that I am saving up (slowly) for.0 -
Hehe thank-you, you just reminded my that was the other idea I forgot.
Or I could basically run an open 'you choose' auction for anything in boots upto £125, buy the stuff and send it to them.0 -
Same here. Its a great opportunity to bag your chrimbo pressies and not have to outlay the cash. Thats what I would do. I am saving my points for this, only at £12 but hey it all helps. :beer:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

Hi. I tend to save up all my points til Christmas and end up getting presents for people with them. Its good coz I've never budgeted for Christmas so I know that there is a little fund building up.
The idea to buy something with it to sell on ebay is a good one, or you could ask around your mates and check that nobody is planning to buy something that you could go and get for them, save putting it on ebay and risking not getting full value for the item?
Keep the good ideas coming, you're doing really well so far!0 -
Thanks all, TBH half the joy of useing the card for expensive stuff was seeing those stuck up old trouts on the designer counters faces when I paid with my advantage card points. Anyway Ive got enough make-up last me to my DFD!0

The risk with ebay is that you might get less than the value of £125. Using it at Xmas and bagging all those 3 for 2's means in effect you can purchase goods to more than the value of £125 IYKWIM. Its got to better value.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

I'd save 'em for Christmas as well!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Don't eBay them!! They will be worth much more in Boots provided that you use them.
To accumulate that many points means you must buy things in Boots so why not use your card to pay for these items and save the cash? See if you can make the card last 3 months or so worth of spending and save the equivelant of what you would have spent or pay off some debt with it?
The christmas kitty idea is good too, I suppose it's up to you. Good luck!0 -
I'm saving mine to buy a big item such as a new buggy for DD. If you have alot to spend then make sure you travel to a bigger store as they have far more choice. Our local Boots is tiny therefore I couldn't spend my points there.
If you want to be DFW then could you not stock up on your essentials in bulk. Many of their shampoos are 3 for 2 just now. Check out the clearence shelves for bargains to buy with them.
Do you have any birthdays coming up? You could use the points to buy birthday pressies for people.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Oooo I do have birthdays coming up soon, I forgot it wasn't that far from September! And the rest can be saved for Xmas. I think thats the best idea, thanks everyone.0
