                    Hi all,
I sold an item to a buyer in Germany last night and their paypal payment is showing as 'pending'. Is this normal for overseas transactions or does it mean there is a potential problem with the buyers account? If it is just a delay transferring between the german bank and my account, does anyone have any idea as to how long it is likely to take to clear? Obviously I haven't sent the item yet but I'm sure the buyer is just as anxious to receive it as I am to send it and close the deal!
Thanks in advance for any advice :-)

            Hi,
Sometimes if the paypal has to take the amount from the persons bank (echeque) rather than a paypal balance it will come up as pending and then you are informed when it has been completed. So don't send anything off just yet, just an email informing the buyer that you will wait to the transaction is complete.
I've got over 1,000 feedback and this has happened lots of time with no problems at all, so don't be worried that theres something wrong with their account.
 Hope this helps.0

oops forgot to say...when its happened with me it has taken between 5 -7 days to complete0

If it's an echeque (It will tell you this in the email Paypal sent you to say the payment had been made) then it can take weeks to clear. The guide time to clear will be in your account &/or in the email but don't send on this day, wait until you get another email from Paypal saying it's cleared.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

What type of paypal account have you got, Personal or Premier?I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0

Thanks guys. It doesn't mention echeque in the paypal statement, it just says 'a payment has been initiated from the senders bank account'
Mr Meanie, I have a premier account :-) (at least I hope that's good!)
I'm guessing it could be a while then...
