First time user here! don't know if I'm in the right place......
don't want to be a bore but there I was looking forward to getting my Tesco clubcard plus card and my registration document arrived asking for my name, DOB, address, bank details, password and original utility bill!!! and they wanted me to post it - i don't think so.
I phoned Tesco, but they said there was no alternative. I investigate identity theft for a living so I ain't gonna give anyone the chance of getting all my personal details in one go!!
I'll just have to live with 1 point per £1 using my normal clubcard:(

Hi and welcome to the board,
my son was asked to fill in a form which requested all those details plus a PASSWORD when he opened an account with one of the major banks, i mean he had to write down a password for online banking and they expected him to post it to them !!!

I find it quite extraordinary that financial institutions, solicitors etc. still trust the post as a safe method of despatch. It is not. Remember the undercover reports on sorting office fraud? A neighbour or mine was a postman at the time and he said there were people in the sorting offices who had gotten a job there just for the purpose of laying hold of useful items such as credit cards, passports and the like.
And Tesco want all those details sent together at the same time? That's asking for identity theft and fraud big time.
Joined up thinking anywhere?Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
