Oven failing to heat!

Our 8 year old Neff has all of a sudden decided to down tools! Whilst the fan runs and lights come on, it fails to heat or indeed the grill to work in any shape or form!

Any tips to a DIY fix or other help appreciated!

Likely that either you need a new element or the wiring to the element has got fried. Had the same problem with our built-in Diplomat oven a couple of months ago - the hardest part was actually getting access to the wiring to fix it. Was a simple enough fix though.

DA, do you know a good local supplier of same...usually they are quite pricey when you go looking for parts!

If it's just the wiring has burned out, it's easily fixed DIY (although if you're vaguely comfortable with electrical things, or possibly soldering, get someone in) - small electrical connectors and the like are easily available from Maplin.

If we had needed an element for ours, I found it by doing a Google search which led me to ebay.

Neff themselves do spares - http://www.neff-eshop.com

You could try TC Reid if it is the element

Quick up-date...upon further inspection, we found that the metal shell of the oven had burnt through!

    So its effectively un-repairable!

    Just ordered a new one!

    Thanks to all, P

After 8 years? That's pretty quick for something like that. They're a bit too expensive to only last that length of time. A cheaper brand would last just as long. Our last one did 20 years and was still mechanically sound, but the door fell off!
