Not seen this posted anywhere but saw this in my local (Hayes, Middx) Staples:
GPX Navigator GPS speed camera detector reduced from £149.99 to £49.99.
It's a subscription-based service which would normally put me off, but you get 6 months free and then it's either £50 for another year or £100 for a lifetime sub which seems OK. They say they update the camera database about three times a week.
Comes with mains adaptor, cigarette lighter lead, serial lead, windscreen mount and an audio lead to connect to a car stereo. It uses an 8-digit LED display plus a couple of single LEDs to show messages and beeps to warn of impending cameras, blackspots or points of interest.
It's probably being discontinued as it requires a 9-pin serial port to download the camera/POI/towns databases which is becoming rarer these days, so I guess a USB version is due soon. You could probably use a USB-serial adaptor if you don't have a serial port. Also note that you have to connect it to a Windows PC (not Mac) and download the updater application to put the databases on it before it will work.
It also does a certain amount of navigation to towns, airports and stations but I haven't tested that yet. And it shows average speed, time to destination, current speed and over speed warning.
Seems pretty good for fifty quid.
