I was going to buy this one with the 80GB HD, but as this has a card reader and display would be better, whats the cheapest 40GB 2.5 " HD?

I think that's an LCD, not an OLED display.

If that is the case then it won't be able to handle any file above 2GB in size ie DVD images etc.

Sorry can't get quote to work today for some reason

According to the manufacturers webpage the display is a "3 colour OLED display and black backlight".

Regarding formatting of the HDD: I'm only going by what the single reviewer on Ebuyer says. I don't own one so can't say. According to the manufacturers website: "File system: FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32"

These kinds of gadgets are very handy for backing up photos while out and about.

This is a good price - but not, of course, if you live in Northern Ireland because Ebuyer's delivery surcharge is £15.

They use an expensive courier rather than the basic Royal Mail recorded delivery option which costs the same throughout the UK.

Ebuyer did reduce this surcharge for a while ages ago but it's back on now - so they won't be getting my money any more!

Sorry to go slightly off topic but I just wanted to save fellow Northern Ireland MSEs from wasting their time by clicking on the link to this product like I did.

    Thanks to the OP anyway.

Black backlight? Hehe - no backlight - you don't need them with emissive displays.

I can't see any signs of more than one colour on the photo, so I'm not sure it's the same spec.

It's quite likely the filesystem cannot support anything beyond FAT32 because NTFS is protected by patents, I believe.

I work for an IT company in Belfast, we order from suppliers all the time on the mainland and they use Royal Mail and City Link as well as Ebuyer.

A lot of these outlets are small than ebuyer yet they have reasonable charges for Northern Ireland deliveries.

Either the couriers are ripping off NI customers or Ebuyer are.

    Sort it out Ebuyer
