Removing Limescale from Cast Iron Bath

Hello everyone, its me again.

We have bought a house that has a good old cast iron bath, rather than replace it we would like to bring it back to life as it is quite large and deep.

The bath has ground in limescale and staining like drips that have run down, and it very rough to touch. There is a bit of brown rust in one area.

We would like to remove the limescales and then if needed purchase a specialist enamel paint to bring it up sparkling white.

We tried Harvic Limescale remover but it didn't seem to do much good.

This house is real seventies style, the toilet is electric blue, and that is defo going to the tip LOL. :D

Thanks again in advance for any advice.
