Hi guys,
OH sorted out the side of his wardrobe at the weekend and becaue there is an outside wall there, all the things there are now mouldy!
We've managed to clean most things but he has a pair of suede trainers and we don't know how best to clean them as we can't chuck them in the machine like we did with the others.
Does anyone know a safe way to clean them without breaking the bank?

You could get some fine grained sandpaper and try rubbing with that VERY GENTLY, mindful thatyou might have to do the rest of the shoe/s to avoid having an odd looking area.
However, mould will probably have penetrated right through the leather and no amount of rubbing will help in that case, so I hope someone else here has a more comprehensive solution.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

I suppose I could scrub them with a nailbrush (they are his not mine so I don't care if they look odd lol) but I don't know what to use to clean them with as I don't just hot water would do the trick.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
A suede cleaning eraser and brush are not that expensive to get and should be the first line of action. You could also try rubbing gently with white vinegar, as the extreme acidity will kill the mould as well as perhaps helping to clean it.
I found this but I'm not sure it is of help to you: http://www.the-mold-removal-guide.com/a-cleaning-mold-on-suede.htmlBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
