council tax girlfrind moved in??

My girlfriend just moved in with me a few weeks ago i own my house etc but as we want to move to oz together we have to start adding both our names to stuff to get the 12 months relationship thing to allow her to come with me.
I have never really looked into this but was told i could add her to my council tax which is one of many things that gives them evidence we are a couple,so do i just call them up and ask for her name to be added?
And also im sure i get for being single discount,if she is living with me now is this still the same or does this change?
She is not working right now so would this affect my council tax in what i pay each month or per year and say she does start working does this change,i thought the council tax was to do with value of property not how many people was in it,anyway do they need to know she is living with me,advise on this would be good as its maybe one of the things i need to maybe change to prove we are living together for the visa we would want for her.

You will loose your single person discount so your bill will rise. They will send you out a revised notification for the rest of the year. The council of value tax is based on the value of the property but they offer discounts if you live on your own or it is a student property. If she is not working, she may be eligible for council tax benefit which means your bill would go back down.

To summarise, your bill will increase as your discount will be removed. If your OH is eligible for CTB they will then reduce your bill again.

For visas you generally find that as long as the address matches for both parties they will accept this evidence. Although is better to have a joint bank account with the statements in both names and as many bills as possible.
