I insured 3 cars on Admirals new Multicar policy a couple of months ago.
You can get a quote online but U have to phone up to buy.
The woman took 30mins on my mobile going through the quote all over again & at the end I said I wanted to pay monthly & was told it was a 5% premium.
When I recieved the documentation through one of my cars (the highest priumium) had increased by approx 50%!
I challenged this & was told thats how much it was & would have to provide evidence of my online quote...which I just happened to print off! They agreed to knock some money off but was still more than I was quoted.
I was then told its because I am paying monthly which adds approx 16%! (the couldnt give me an exact figure!) @ which point I asked why it was only applied to one car then?!? No answer.
I just turned 25 & now they quote even lower online. I phoned them to inform that unless they honour the quote i will cancell my direct debit. This time I was told it was more because I phoned up to buy it!?! U CANT BUY ONLINE!
After again being quoted the mysterious 16% i told them im cancelling the direct debit @ which point i was told they can re-quote me if i give them my CC details....I put the phone down!
A real shame as they are by far the cheapest...now i know why!

This is the difference between interest rate and APR (which has to be calculated on a loan of £1500 and includes fees and a few other things). According to More Th<n's website (seeing as Admiral doesnt say anything on their own site) Admiral charges a 8.5% rate for DD payments but as an APR that is 21.8%. It could be that admiral has reduced the rate to 5% (which would be about 16% APR) but More Th<n for some strange reason has been too quick in updating their site. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

when you've got your quote from Admiral get a quote from Elephant. Elephant phone you about your qoute and quite often they'll switch system and let you buy the Admiral one.0
