Hi Graham
Good advice on here, as always. I would definitely consider sportbeth's suggestion of a basic bank account in the first instance.
As far as your redundancy is concerned, you have certain rights. This is a great website: http://www.worksmart.org.uk/rights/viewsubsection.php?sun=16 and I'd have a look as soon as you can.
If you're in a union, speak to them - they should be working with the management to ensure that everything is handled fairly.
You may also be entitled to some kind of redundancy payment if you've been employed for more than two years. Your statutory rights are:
* half a week's pay for every year of service between 18 and 21
* one week's pay for every year of service between 22 and 40
although some employers may have better arrangements.
Your employer should also allow you reasonable time off to look for another job.
All the best Graham - stay calm and stay on here. There are some great people with good ideas. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
