£100 fuel limit allowance for self employed??

hi is it true that you can only claim a maximum of £100 fuel allowance if you are self employed? ive been reading all the posts on here and my other half actually said this, so im not sure if its true. I currently spend around £120 on fuel and its growing, so am a little worried that i shouldnt be putting them all in the balance sheet if i am only allowed £100 a month to claim.

any ideas? or is this complete rubbish. is there actually a maximum limit?

There is no maximum that you can claim for, the only reduction is for private use. So if you are spending £120 per month on fuel and all of this is business related then you can offset the full amount against your income along with any tax, insurance, repairs etc.

Yeah as Rolo says there's no maximum. However much you claim you must be able to demonstrate that it is reasonable (keep the receipts and be prepared to show how you arrived at any split between private and business use, or otherwise keep a mileage log if you're claiming the per mile rate).
