In a DMP and need to find a new house!!!

Options
I am in the early stages of a DMP through CCCS. However, I need to find a new house to rent as the lease has expired on my current property and the landlord is selling up.

How do I go about this as the Letting Agents/estatet Agents all do credit Cheks prior to applying for a property. I have several Defaults on my account due to my DMP and so am not going to pass the Credit Checks? I have looked at teh private lettings but they are few and far between and do not suit my requiremants.

has your landlord asked you to leave because if he has the coucill should be able to help you find afordable housing under the homeless act

    hiya

you should check with the Letting Agents as to what they are searching for when they perform the credit check, as some companies may just look to ensure you have not been made bankrupt etc and may not care about Default Notices (which should be all that will show if you are in a DMP)

Register with Experian (you may have to pay a small fee but you only have to be with them for a month, just cancel it as soon as you've done this below)...

Add statements to your credit report stating that being on a DMP demonstrates you're getting you finances under control etc. etc.

Any creditors that search your report will see your statements and it may mean they re-consider you.

    Thanks,

i was on a dmp for a year when i had to move.....my credit file would have been a mess.......most letting agencies just want a work reference, bank reference and previous landlords reference.........unless you are perhaps renting an expensive appartment/house.........you should be ok
