Tine's turn

Hey gang :)

I know I haven't been about much but it's been a hectic time here :(
I need to get back on track after a month full of unexpected outgoings
Some were my choice to spend and I fully accept that I was a very naughty girl about them... I'll do a full SOA (it's thankfully not very bad and to be honest I know that there aren't many areas for saving it'll just help me behave myself!)

Income £1440 (after tax)

Debt (yep it's gone up slightly...)
Egg Card (currently 0%apr which ends in just over a month) £872.09
Egg Loan (7.7% apr)£7809.96
Overdraft on A&L £300

Outgoings:
Pet Insurance (2 cats 1 Dog) £21
Egg loan £167.30
Egg Card £20 (min payment, I tend to pay £50 at least)
Contribution to Bills and Mortgage to OH £250
Mobile £50 (this is what I set aside not what I actually spend. Contract not due for renewal till March 07)
Petrol £160

Monthly total (approx) £668.30 (let's say £700 to make it easy to work with)

Other outgoings like car insurance was paid in one lump sum and put on 0% card.
There will be things like MOT coming up and Car tax in Sept.

Money left to spend on food: £740 (I'm kidding!)

Seriously though I pay for 95% of our food so this is where I need to save! I'll be doing a lot of OSing :)

My immediate target is to pay off my 0% Egg card as the 0% runs out soon (6 weeks) and clearing the OD. I'm going to set myself food budget and try to stick to it. The OD will clear when my salary gets paid leaving me £1100 before other monthly outgoings are sorted...

My OH has kindly offered to cover the £250 this month as he has just had his annual bonus which will mainly go on HIS debts but he can do without the £250 from me this month.

I guess this SOA is nothing compared to some of other peoples SOAs but I need to do this to get back on track and under control! :)
I know I can do this I just need your support guys :)

Its looks like your right on track and seem to have the enthusiasm to get through it.

I hope you manage it this month - keep us updated;)

You can really do this. You take home £70 more than me a month, pay out £100 less in mortgage, and I've been repaying minimum of £460 a month which is leaving me money for a holiday and other stuff. If you can match that you'll be debt free in just over a year and a half. Not long at all!

Just do what I do, and daydream about the day when you have NO debt and all your net pay is your own... bliss! ;)

    Dec 2005 £8,500

    April 2007 £0

Paid Off Since Lightbulb Moment £8,500

I know I know :) I'm a lot better off than most here andI do feel a little guilty about that :( But I need a proverbial kick in the butt!
I know I can do this but this month just completely threw me off track to be honest :(

The £250 for mortgage and bills is no-where near half the payment but the OH earns a LOT more than me so we have done it on a proportionate scale ;) Once I clear my debts then I'll start paying more so he can make bigger payments on HIS debts and we'll BOTH be debt free hopefully :)

I guess I just need a bit of a moral boost after a crappy month really :) at least the cupboards are crammed full so I should be able to spend very little ;) If I can stick to it!

Well sometimes when you least expect it then destiny comes back and kicks you in the butt... DRAT! Car needs rear exhaust box replacing - a snip at £111 plus fitting... :eeek:

Right I am actually being very good in general. I have purchased a bit more than I might normally but a fair bit of it is through quidco where I am actually earning more than I spent which is good :) It DOES make the spreadsheets a little iffy as that cash won't come back for a few months but I'm quite proud with my bargains as most of it have been for pressies in readyness for x-mas :)
Next weekend will be interesting as my FMIL is down visiting (we're the stop over as they are flying out from Luton and live in scotland...) so I'll meet her for the first time since hooking up with my OH nearly 14 months ago... Should make for an interesting time :S

The dog/kangaroo was spayed on thursday and although I got strict instructions about what she can and can't do till the stiches come out it would appear they neglected to mention it to HER! ARGH!
Cats are still sulking about the fact that they have to share the house and everything else with a dog, and Hugin (aka fatboy) decided to remind OH by lacerating his knee when it got in the way of the Kangaroo's nose which apparently needed a swipe... OH not hugely amused...

Work is driving me nuts as always, nurse told me last week to avoid stress as my blood pressure is up a bit (well actually down compared to the previous time) and I had to laugh... avoid stress? I run a european technical support centre! Stress is my daily snack inbetween nervous break downs and staff throttling!

Was quite good at the weekend - cleared out shed and found a few bits to put on e-bay and have now made room for me to go through other chests of hoarded stuff :) I have a black E-bay sack which OH also adds to when he stumbles across anything so will get busy with that tuesday and wednesday evening when he is working away from home :) Fingers crossed by the weekend I should have managed to tidy the house... HAHAHAHAHAHA yeah right :)
