csa advice

i pay my exhusband per week, long long story,

anyway i was paying him direct, but he went to csa as he thought he could get more money, CSA told me not to pay him whilst they sorted things out, eventually came back and said I owed him 2 months money (£600), i was paying him £300 per month.

so last month they took the 20% from my wages, plus another 20% for back dated pay.!

My boss just told me today, they have to reduce my hours to 16 per week, which means i'll get just over £100 per week. I've looked it up and i only have to pay him £6 per week, but will they take 40% for the backdated pay.

It would be easier to be sick, at least then i'd get £70 a week and ex can't touch money, I wouldn't mind, but children get nothing!

think it all depends on the age of the child are you under csa1 or csa2? have you tried ringing them and asking for the back dated money to be reduced?

I understand how annoying/frustrating these things are.

But your paying for your children......how do you mean they get nothing??

I think the OP meant, if she went on the sick, the children would get nothing so she wouldn't do it.

I'm not 100% sure about how the arrears will be repaid when you're on a lower income. Hopefully someone more clued up will come a long soon. x

Sorry just re-read OP first post can see what she means now...DOH!!

No I don't know what would happen regarding payment of arrears in that case either.....maybe CSA suspend arrears being paid until income is of an amount that assess enough income to make payments regarding arrears????
Maybe worth contacting CSA and explaining situation rather than leaving yourself in a position where arrears could again increase?
