OK, so I know this isn't going to be rocket science and many of you have probably though of this before.
You can often save a few quid, every little bit helps as they say.
If you have a shop called C.E.X or use E-Bay you can buy cheap second hand CD's, just stick them into your disk drive and rip them onto Itunes or whatever programme you use. Then, this is where C.E.X comes in handy, you can sell it back to them for cash or exchange vouchers. The C.E.X website also gives you a price so you can work out whether it's worth it or not.
I've had some success this way. Getting the album for effectively less than a £1 in some cases (for older albums).

But that is still technically theft. You are then just as guilty as someone who downloads music illegally.
AFAIK (and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong) if you sell a CD that you own, you are supposed to remove all "copies" of it that you have made, ie "back up CD's", MP3 versions etc.0 -

yes correct you have to delete it after 24hrs of selling said cdReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
Really? Well I take it back then as I never knew that...
Where did you find that out?
Can this post be deleted?

Alternatively, and perfectly legally for your own personal use, just record from the radio.
I've got a DAB radio that records direct to SD card.
I've also got a Philips 20gb Recording Audio Jukebox (size of a packet of cigarettes) that has "Line In" which takes analogue OR digital (BOTH Coaxial or Optical) input.
This is perfect for hooking up to Digital radio on Freeview, FreeSat Digiboxes etc. or DAB radios, especially those with digital outputs.
It automatically converts any input to an MP3 recording on the fly (multiple files if required) and via USB can backed up to a PC for editing/trimming if required.
I'm a big fan of Planet Rock (on Sky & DAB) and they very frequently play tracks in their entirety with no talk-over of the start or the end of the music.
Hey-presto - either method - full and excellent quality legal digital recordings and now MP3 files on my PC & audio devices
