oat cakes- what to do with them?

Hi I have just found an unopened packet of oat cakes in the cupboard. I was thinking of having them in packed lunches but didnt really know what to put on them and they look at bit uninspiring on their own.

What do you have on oat cakes?

xx

Having been forced to eat them as a child I would bin them pronto, its about the only thing I really dislike, but my DD loves them smothered in butter and strawberry jam

They are very nice spread with some butter and a thin sliver of cheese, also some pickle if you like that sort of thing. Also nice with pate, cheese spread, or just butter alone.

I love them, my favourites are Nairn's Rough & I eat those dry, but I guess that's not to everyone's taste :o

otherwise like OrkneyStar, just spread with some nice salty butter, or butter & a very thin slice of good cheddar

If we ever get an odd one or two left over (DH is Scottish so it is rare ) I've broken them up & added them to a crumble topping.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Cheese and chutney...yummmmm
  • phildelphia (or supermarkets own brand) or dairylea
  • I just had a quick look at the Nairn's website and one of their suggestions is fresh raspberries & blueberries with Greek honey style yoghurt...
