good luck - as an interviewer I just expect people to turn up prepared and appropriately dressed (normally business smart) - not necessarily with loads of stuff. Most require you bring ID now.
if it was for a creative job, a portfolio of work would be expectedI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -

I always ask when i get contacted what i need to bring, ive mostly been asked to bring prooof of NI number and passport but ime it depends on the job as for example if tesco contacted you i wouldnt take a cv with me as you have filled in the form before hand so no need for a cv0 -
I take a hidden dictaphone and a lucky rabbit foot.
The rabbit foot is good luck that either I get the job or they will say something illegal which is recorded and I can sue them afterwards.0 -

I'd take a copy of your CV if you have sent this in, its useful as an aide memoire if nothing else. A pen is always useful, even if you don't use it as its good to have. For office jobs its good to look at the website or do a bit of research before hand too.Mortgage Free since January 2018!0

When I first left school I used to take in my Record of Achievement to interviews, not one employer looked at it!
Waste of time collating it.0 -
I would imagine most of the people you've seen taking in files are carrying a "brag file" This will contain any proof of achievements in previous roles, any letters of thanks from customers or management, any letter saying you've achieved any bonus if applicable etc etc. Basically any documentation you have that says you have been a good employee.
Also ID and a copy of your cv and a list of any questions you want to ask the interviewer - it should be a 2 way process as you want to decide whether they are suitable employers too.

nobody has told you? get yourself an A4 binder, fill it up with blank paper in between, lump it under your arm with just your cv on top and certificates at the back.0 -
