I wanna cheap 5.1 speaker system and amp - ideas??

Hi.

It's a long story, but my son saved his money and bought a karaoke system from Argos 18 months ago for £129.95. I chipped in an extra £21 for "instant replacement" if it broke - which it has. In short, I think he's now entitled to an exact replacment (which they don't stock) - or an approximate equivalent, plus vouchers to make the value up to £129.95

Now argos do now sell a karaoke DVD with 5.1 - but I guess this would need a 5.1 amp and speakers. Can anyone suggest anything? There are loads of 5.1 speaker systems with amps out there, but most are only plug compatible with PC 5.1 sound cards, and hence no good.

Can anyone suggest a cheap 5.1 speaker and amp combo which might work?

Or failing this, since his interest in karaoke has somewhat waned (thank god) - can anyone suggest a really cheap DVD/5.1/speaker/amp combo for his room?

We've got a proper set up in our living room, so quality for the above is not important - it's just the novelty value he's after.

And really finally, any combo systems that also play MP3 files would be the icing on the cake - as would any suggestions for just cheap non-5.1 players that play MP3s.

Asda were selling a 5.1 set to go with home cinema kits for about £35 before xmas Durabrand I think, bright green boxes

Are there any good web sites where you can but speakers+amp (sometimes amp is built in to teh subwoofer I think)?

I am actually after something a bit higher spec but the likes of Amazon are a bit limited. A specialist would be ideal.

Sainsbury's had a MiCo 5.1 system including DVD for £59.99 just before christmas...I know cos I bought one! Plays MP3's too. Not the best kit out there but for 60 quid i'm happy.
