hi all
i remember last year one of the daily newspapers did an offer for cheap pantomime tickets for the less popular times and dates.....
Has anyone seen anything similar for this year?
I would love to take ds and dd to the pantomime for a treat this year but the tickets are coming out as £26 each!!!
I dont care what stars are in it- we don''t watch much tv so they would not recognise them anyway....
i just want to do things they will remember ...
if there are any offers can people let me know
thanks

I dont know of any but I remember my local town hall doing some free ones last year with locals playing the parts, etc. Maybe yours would do the same? Not quite the same but equally memorable.0

I'd agree with this, when I was smaller we went to see some at local churches, community centres, working man's clubs, and they were all brilliant! Probably not as good as the ones in the big theatres, but still really entertaining and funny, probably worth checking out if you can't get cheaper tickets, sure your kids would still have a great timeD'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0

I thought about taking my kids to the Kings in Glasgow for the Panto then nearly died when I saw the price on the website for 5 of us. No way can afford it. Much as I would love to take them its just way too expensive. I am going to look for a local pantomime in council run halls, its the only way we could afford to see one. Hopefully it'll be just as much fun and get us all in the Christmas mood!0

I'm in favour of the local productions too, especially if they wouldnt recognise the celebs in them.
We always took our children to the local ones but one year took them to a main theatre (thinking they'd prefer it and we had money off vouchers) but we went straight back to the local group the year after as it was much better.0 -
On the subject, Cinderella seems to be in vogue around me.
Now ... would a 6 1/2 year old boy enjoy cinderella or is it more a girl thing ...?0 -
I replyed to a similar thread in the families board.

The offer was in the daily mail last year, around this sort of time. Hope they do it again. Unfortunately the theatre nearest us on the Ritz offer is the one my son is going to with the school.0

Daily Mail have done it the last couple of years an it has always been the first couple of weeks in November when it was announced so guess it could come out this week. I'll have a look on the ritz and Tesco ones as a back up I thinkThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
