Repairing My Credit Score

Hi, I wonder if anybody can help me regarding paying some of my old debts off. I have been on these forums for 18 months now and the support and empathy of so many people on here has got me to this stage – I am so grateful!

I have got a copy of my credit file which shows a number of defaults which relate to my smaller debts (fortunately!) and of which I have never received default notices. I have now written to them with settlement figures and advising that I will pay these amounts on the proviso that the defaults are removed.

However, my other debts (larger ones!) are all detailed as satisfactory with payments up to date but they have ‘arrangement’ as the Special Instruction Indicator. I assume that this will still keep my credit rating in a negative situation until this is corrected as I assume any future lenders – I am looking to try and apply for a mortgage in the nxt year – will see this information.

Can anyone offer any advice?
