help with my cake please

Hi,ive not been making cakes for very long,and this evening me an my 4yr old daughter are making are first fairy cake's,I think ive messed up with the measuring though,it was ment to be 100grams of sugar and flour,but the cup of sugar was full,but the cup of flour was just over half full,the mix seems very runny,is this how it should be or should I add a bit more flour,if anyone has a spare minute a quick reply would be really appriciated as we are making cake now,trhanks for reading

yeah equal sugar and flour is your answer , i would add just under half a cup of flour xA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men :cool:

my scales are really old, i weighed 100g of sugar which was a cup, but the 100g of flour was half a cup. Obviously need new scales, thak you all, we can get on with our cake now

thank you, my cakes have been a compleat sucsess,in future I now know to just fill up a cup of each instead of messing about with my scales,Im loving all this baking I cant understand why i didnt make my own in the past,home baked cakes are so much nicer than supermarket cheap one's which I have bought for years0
