Help £70k in debt

  • You have interest rates of zero shown for a lot of your debts, including loans which definitely won't be zero. You'll need to dig out the actual interest rates.
  • Have just read your SOA. Is the £1000 a month partners income likely to be regular? You said in your opening post that he has been laid off - so if this is not regular income you need to make that clear to the debt charities to ensure you/they don't base their advice on it, and offer your creditors more than you can afford.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Good luck with it all.

What year were your credit cards taken out, some or all of them maybe unenforceable, they need to be prior to April 2007.
  • I spoke to the National Debtline (0808 808 4000 or nationaldebtline.co.uk) which is a charity. The person I spoke to was fantastic and went through everything with me and I wasn't rushed (I was on the phone for 55 mins!). She sent out a booklet and leaflets outlining all the options giving pros & cons for all of them. I felt more hopeful after speaking to someone that knew what they were talking about and certainly didn't judge me.
    I hope this helps.
