Hi
Could you try one of those charts that primary school age kids use where every day they change the date, the weather, and you have the month and seasons on it? Try the Early Learning Centre
If you actually want a big clock face, then Ikea have huge clocks for not much money.
Sorry, I can't do links otherwise I would have a try.
Good luck

We had a grandma who lived to the superb age of 99! Passed away 6 months exactly before her 100th!..anyway..she used to write down the day every morning she got up in a notebook she kept next to her seat, she said it helped her to know what day it was!
Hope this helps,

What about a talking clock? Have found this one on RNIB website.

My mum suffers from alzeihmers. We had the same problem and bought her a clock with the time (obviously) the day and the date. Unfortunately it all started getting out of synch (battery operated, cheaply made at £10) and to be honest part of the illness is that they forget to look at the clock and even if they do look, they forget what it says instantly. Sadly my mum thinks every day is a bank holiday Monday and in her position every day is much the same as another. Hope your relative fares better.0

Hi,
In a previous life (!) I worked at a Daily Living Centre (also called Disabled Living Centres, Assistive Technology Centres! etc). There are 50 or more all over the Country and they exist to advise and demonstrate daily living equipment (assistive technology) to people with any disability need, also carers/relatives. They may be run by council/charities etc.
Most DLCs have a wide display of equipment, from kitchen gadgets to beds/stairlifts, for you to come and try for free - no selling, no obligation. I left the job for various reasons but one was the lack of budget/opportunies and support for advertising the service.
You can find your nearest DLC online at https://www.dlcc.co.uk (dlcc is the Daily Living Centres Council, which now calls itself Assist Uk). I wonder how many reading this actually know about the existence of these centres?
I believe every Council in England and Wales is supposed to aim to open a similar service - so if your area does not feature on the dlcc website you could ask your Council why not? Also you can still telephone most DLCs for advice even if you are out of area.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sincere thanks to all of the ideas that have been mentioned, I will pursue many of these avenues as soon as I can. I myself work as a Lifeline (emergency alarm telephone) installer and though I had many of the answers but as I have learned, it's all so very easy to deal with when you are not emotionally involved.
One more question: The type of clock I have in my head has got day/date on it, if any of you MSE real good people can offer any more ideas I would be truly grateful
EVERY DAY I BEAT MY OWN PREVIOUS RECORD FOR THE NUMBER OF CONSECUTIVE DAYS I'VE STAYED ALIVE............. AND BELIEVE ME THATS ONE MORE DAY TO BE GRATEFUL FOR :A"Did you hear about the frog that broke down on the motorway???? They toad him away!"0 -
Just to say good luck in tracking down the clock you want!
This is just the sort of question we did used to answer at the Daily Living Centre I worked at, and although I don't have the info available to me any longer you can certainly phone and ask your nearest DLC to do the research for you (even if the nearest one is in another County).
Just a thought - I don't think I made it clear in my last post that the centres are not just for 'disabled' people, they advise anyone about equipment to help with any physical or sensory difficulty. Most customers I saw were elderly but would not have been considered 'disabled'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The one I linked to had the time, day and date on, maybe others can find it cheaper as £60 is a bit steep for a clock! I think I searched under flip clock or bank clock.
