A digital aerial will cost about £50 plus installation as the radio only has one output for DAB and FM, and so you would need a dual band aerial.
The digital aerial is usually only needed for cars that use the rear window for their existing FM car radio, as these use an amplifier, which does not pass the higher radio frequencies used by DAB stations.
If your car has a visible external aerial at present, then you probably will not need the extra aerial.
This DAB radio is not that great, and is very similar to the Goodmans model, but for the price you will not get anything cheaper for DAB in the car.
I thought about getting DAB for the car, but decided to get MP3 instead.0 -

About right for the DAB antennas - found glass mount ones for £40 and relatively easy to install - I wanted MP3 and DAB so will prob go for the Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB 54 at £289 - bit pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for!!Be an amateur! It's also available at this website: http://www.inest.co.uk/range.asp?typeId=408
but note that it's B grade stock - is the argos offering the same?
I've had a DAB radio for a few years now (provided for my work in the broadcast industry), and have found it's brilliant in areas of good reception. Being old, mine has a separate tuner and separate roof mounted DAB aerial - others have found the glass mounted ones to give worse performance, and a combined FM/DAB aerial is always a compromise. Active aerials will not improve a signal with lots of errors, so if you live in an area with poor coverage you should definitely go for a roof mount.
Go for it, but check coverage first at this site: http://www.audiouk.com/dab.htm0 -
